The ardent and pugnacious work of Shahabuddin reflects borderline situations where man is the common denominator. It is around the human figure - captured in a state of flagrant desire to survive in its escape -- that the phases of his process are crystallized.
There is no sentimentality in the brush of Shahabuddin; he captures creatures in their initial ferveur, catapulted by an irrepressible interior force. Instantaneity of the gesture, deafening colourings, painter of temperament, Shahabuddin imposes a direct, generous and wilful style, which is still controlled and always vibrant.
