History of the Place
The founders, Béatrice and Marcel Heinz, dedicated a large part of their lives to the construction and development of the Jas de la Rimade.
Following their passing in 2022 and 2024, Béatrice's children, Tamara and Cédric, along with his partner Cathy, are embarking on this new adventure.
The reopening of the gallery in June 2025 marks a new chapter in the history of the place.
In 1983 Béatrice and Marcel buy a semi-ruin dated from the 13th century and going back to the Knight-templars...
After 3 years of restoration work, respecting the original structure, the first part of the building is complete. It will house the private residence as well as the art gallery, which opened its doors in 1986.
In 1990 the rebuildin on the large sheepfold and the two stables has finally been completed. The gallery will be able to move into this new section.
Spacious exhibition rooms are created to showcase the artworks of the artists that Béatrice and Marcel passionately discovered and selected over more than 35 years.
Since 1986 more than a hundred painting and sculpture exhibitions took place inside the gallery as well as in the sculpture garden and the yard.
